The system collects webcam snapshots (not continuous video by default, though continuous recording is available), focus-loss timestamps, tab-switch counts, mouse movement patterns, response times per question, IP addresses, and device identifiers. All data is stored on your own OpenEduCat instance, nothing is sent to a third-party cloud service. Retention periods are configurable by your IT team. Most institutions set a 12-month retention window that aligns with their academic integrity appeal period.
